All Paper Chase, all the time!. JURIST's Paper Chase has outgrown the confines of JURIST's front page, and is about to move to a new webpage all its own. Paper Chase updates will be very intermittent over the next couple of days as we makes the transition, and our front page is adjusted accordingly. [JURIST's Paper Chase]

Sendmail 8.12.8 This release contains a fix for a critical security problem. All users are urged to upgrade immediately. Patches for older versions are also available. There is also a bugfix for ident parsing. While this is not believed to be exploitable, if you are not upgrading, you may want to turn off ident checking by adding this to your .mc file: define(`confTO_IDENT', `0s'). [freshmeat.net]

Yikes! Well this could really do a number on the blog nation. Nothing like some guys in suits looking for ROI and figuring TCO on stuff to mung up the works. On the plus side, maybe a enough suits won't get it and just ignore the whole thing.

Small Business:"An attacker could crash the Nokia phone by creating a vCard that was too large to be contained within a single SMS message and that contained fields with a large numbers of format string characters. When the targeted Nokia phone received the last part of the malformed, multipart vCard, it would produce a buffer overflow on the phone's software, causing the phone to crash."

News: Tablet PCs draw a rousing welcome - Top vendors Hewlett-Packard and Toshiba say sales of their tablet PCs--tiny portable computers fitted with pens, touch screens and handwriting-recognition technology--are exceeding predictions made before the devices' November launch. The machines are based on Microsoft's Windows XP Tablet PC Edition software.
Toshiba several times has increased production of its Portege 3500 tablet, after having trouble meeting initial demand, said Mark Simons, vice president of Toshiba's transactional business group. - ZDNet

Dan and Harold @Emory have seen the Toshiba tablet and rate it highly. It may be added to the list of recommended PCs for incoming 1L in the Fall of 2003. I would recommend keepoing an eye on the shipment date problems. Nothing like a 1L who is still waiting fro the new PC to arrive a week into class.
