News: Google's Froogle seeks product info - With holiday spending in full gear, Google is testing a new service that uses the company's search engine to help shoppers find products online.
Dubbed Froogle, the new service lets people search by category or by simply typing a product type into the search window. The search results are provided using Google's spider technology, which scours merchant Web sites for relevant product data. ZD-Net

HP, Linux NetworX team for Linux server clusters - Computerworld - Hewlett-Packard Co. and Linux clustering software vendor Linux NetworX Inc. are joining their efforts to offer powerful HP server clusters linked together with specialized management applications.
In an announcement yesterday, HP said it will sell its 64-bit Intel Itanium 2-based servers and 32-bit Intel-based ProLiant series servers fully configured with Linux NetworX ClusterWorX software for a wide range of high performance computing applications.

Novell previews new GroupWise 6.5 collaboration suite - Computerworld - In a world of collaboration software dominated by Microsoft Corp.'s Exchange and IBM's Lotus Notes, Novell Inc. continues to push ahead with its GroupWise application, hoping to distinguish itself in a busy field of contenders.
In a conference call with users and analysts today, Novell and partner vendor IntelliReach Corp. in Dedham, Mass., outlined a preview of the upcoming new version of GroupWise, due out in February, by exploring key new features and reminding users of some of the existing product's strengths in terms of total cost of ownership and flexibility.
