Faw writes "It was mentioned before that Echostar was releasing a Linux based PVR. It has been out for a month now, and the modifications to the kernel and other software are here. The cool thing is the site is running on the same receiver. Someone is already hacking it. Wonder how long until the receiver get slashdotted."

Real estate agent Tara Sue Grubb is fed up with what she calls "individual rights sacrificed for big corporate politics." Judge Throws Out Hyperlink Lawsuit:"A federal judge has thrown out a lawsuit that could have made the World Wide Web a pay-as-you-click toll road. U.S. District Judge Colleen McMahon rejected BT Group's claim that it owns the patent on hyperlinks -- those single-click that make the Web what it is. Filed earlier this year, the suit accused an Internet service provider, Prodigy Communications Corp., of infringing on BT's patent on hyperlinks."
