teknurd writes "Wired has an article about the growing problem of computer users having to call tech support to get help removing all of the spyware on their computers. 'The fast-growing phenomenon is already responsible for more than 12 percent of all technical support calls in Dell's consumer hardware division, the biggest category of complaints this year, company representatives said.' Personally, I have had to remove this plague from the computers of several friends and family members."

LawLibTech: Westlaw Delivers RSS!:"Westlaw Intraclips can now be delivered via RSS! "

I'm looking into this in as far as it can be used by law schools.  Maybe now we'll see more activity around RSS and aggregators in law schools.

A Quick Review
  • Here is a sample feed
  • You'll need to edit existing clips to add RSS
  • The feeds are valid RSS 0.92, making them useful just about everywhere
  • The articles in the feed are text only. This is 'feature' of Westlaw that harkens back to the bad old days of dial-up term access.
  • The titles of the publications that generate the articles are not included in the feed. Source titles do turn up in the HTML version. This is a bit of a negative that should be fixed.
  • You can post the feeds anywhere, but you need a Westlaw login to get the full article.

All in all a great effort that can open a lot of Westlaw to a format that is easy to get a hold of and use.  A coolest tool.
